5. Working with Alternative Scenarios

An alternative scenario effectively represents a snapshot of the actual model – in order to allow for most relevant and economical means of improvement, a scenario allows for the following:
1.       Deselection of some/all of the prescriptive improvement measures that were identified
2.       Manual definition and modification of the model to provide one or more alternative improvement measures
Changes made to the alternative scenario are not reflected in the original source project (viewed using Prescribed Measures on the Scenario toolbar drop-down menu). The alternative scenario is in effect a completely independent model, allowing you to make changes to building thermal data, constructions, profiles and so on. However, it is only accessible within the ApacheSim - Section 63 simulation mode in VE Compliance – this prevents more fundamental changes, such as geometry edits and changes to MacroFlo and Radiance settings.
