The HRC must be configured in series with the CHWL. In this setup, building chilled water return flows first through the HRC. The water leaving the HRC, now at a reduced temperature, then becomes the entering water for downstream cooling equipment. This configuration ensures that the HRC operates at maximum capacity and efficiency before any other cooling equipment is engaged, optimizing energy recovery and overall system performance.
