If you have issues as described in the previous section ‘Resolve unwanted escaping volumes’ you can use the ‘Cap volumes’ tool to trim off the unwanted geometry above a certain height. This will be of particular use where a user does not have access to the originating BIM model. However if the originating BIM model is available, it is good practice to highlight such issues and fix them in originating software package to keep models synchronised.
To use the ‘Cap volumes’ tool work through the model one level at a time, selecting the rooms to be capped. Make sure to change the option to ‘Selection’ rather than ‘All rooms’ so as to only apply the edit to the required rooms.
