· Floor plans: defined by the importing of CAD-based DXF format drawing files.
· Staircases: defined within Simulex as linear ‘vertical corridors’ to represent the simplified geometry of a normal staircase.
· Links: which connect different floors and staircases together to create a connected 2D representation of a 3D building.
· Exits: represent lines of final destination for the occupants, usually only used outside the external envelope of a building. When a ‘person’ reaches an exit he/she is removed from the simulation.
