Available provision profile allows selection of a profile from the database to define the availability of the CHP plant due to manual operation. If a schedule is not required, the profile should be defined as “on continuously”.
Electrical efficiency & thermal efficiency
For both the rated condition and the minimum condition, an electrical efficiency and a thermal efficiency must be defined. These are the efficiencies of the CHP plant at the corresponding conditions. These efficiency values, in conjunction with the defined heat output values, are used to interpolate the electricity output and fuel consumption. CHP assets cannot provide less electricity or heat than the minimum and, if the demand is lower than the minimum, the CHP will not provide electricity or heat that timestep.
If the heat demand exceeds the rated heat output, then the heat output and electricity output are set to the rated values (together with an associated fuel consumption).
Fraction of rated heat output at minimum electricity output
The Fraction of rated heat output at minimum electricity output defines the amount of heat generated by the CHP plant at the minimum condition.
Heat output at rated electricity output
The Heat output at rated electricity output is the amount of heat generated by the CHP plant at the rated condition.
Profile for power matching strategy
The Profile for power matching strategy sets the CHP to generate electricity and heat to meet electricity demand with heat as a useful by-product.
