4.18 Solar Water Heating

Solar Water Heating assets provide heat by harvesting incident solar energy.  Solar water heating assets are generally installed in buildings but may also represent larger installations of a district heating network.  Solar water heaters often involve an associate electric heater which tops up the tank if available solar irradiance is low.  The energy that can be harvest by a solar collector for heating water depends on the weather.

The ID number of each Solar Water Heating object is unique and used for simulation.  The name is not used by the simulation engine, but should be used to give the object meaningful identification within the project.
Users can define a custom Solar Water Heating object, or may select from a list of pre-defined options.  If defining a custom Solar Water Heating object, the input values described below will need to be defined. Pre-defined options are as follows:
