4.10.1 Attributes

Available provision profile
Available charging flux profile allows selection of a profile from the database to define the availability of the Electricity Storage for charging (adding energy to the storage). If a schedule is not required, the profile should be defined as “on continuously”.
 
Available discharging flux profile
Available discharging flux profile allows selection of a profile from the database to define the availability of the Electricity Storage for discharging (expending energy from the storage). If a schedule is not required, the profile should be defined as “on continuously”.
 
Charge & Discharge loss factor
The Charge loss factor is the fraction of energy lost when charging the storage device.  The Discharge loss factor is the fraction of energy lost when discharging the storage device.
 
Control type
Control type dictates whether this installation follows active or passive storage management.  Active management means that the storage device is considered to be a user-controlled, dispatchable device.  Passive management is an automatic management system that will charge whenever the total possible generation exceeds the demand (i.e. surplus) and discharge when the demand exceeds the total possible generation.  Default is passive.
 
Initial stored energy
Initial stored energy defines the amount of energy in storage at the beginning of a simulation.
 
Leakage loss factor
The Leakage loss factor is the fraction of energy lost every 30 days due to leaks or background discharge.
 
Maximum charging flux
The Maximum charging flux is the maximum power that can be used to charge the storage device.
 
Maximum discharging flux
The Maximum discharging flux is the maximum power that can be discharged from the storage device.
 
Storage capacity
Storage capacity defines the Maximum amount of energy that can be in storage at any point in time.
 
Stored energy indirect CO2 emission factor
The Stored energy indirect CO2 emission factor is the CO2 emission factor associated with the energy initially in storage.
