The Water Consumption calculates six output variables based on three usage categories, these are derived from the simulation outputs of the ApacheHVAC network;
· Airside makeup water (from Spray Chamber and/or Steam Humidifier components on airside networks)
· Air Condensate Water (from Cooling Coil components on airside networks)
· Waterside (from Cooling Tower)
For Spray Chambers and Steam Humidifiers the law of conservation of mass(of water) is used to derive the makeup water from the operation of the airside component to add moisture to the air.
For Cooling Coils the same theory is used to derive the condensate water used by the airside component.
Waterside Cooling Tower makeup water is based on three different components; Evaporation loss, Drift loss and Blowdown loss.
Cooling Tower Evaporation Loss considers the volume and temperature of air entering and leaving the Cooling Tower, as well as water addition.
Cooling Tower Drift Loss is based on wind speed (from simulation weather file) and load side water flow to Cooling Tower.
Blowdown Loss requires the user entered Cycles of Concertation to calculate an average CoC as well as the Evaporation ad Drift loss factors.
Assumptions:

P = total pressure, assumed to be atmospheric pressure, (101.325 kPa)
