Construction Database Manager

The surface tile creation has a direct relationship with the Armstrong Templok construction containing the Phase change material.

To facilitate this a new category has been created in the construction database manager (ApCDB) called ‘Surface Tile’.

Once a surface tile has been added to the model the Armstrong Templok construction is imported into the surface tile category in ApCDB.

The construction has layering that matches the Templok tile makeup i.e.
·         Templok PVC – 0.02 inch
·        Templok PCM – 0.20 inch
·         Templok PVC – 0.02 inch
·         Templok Acoustic Tile – 0.75 inch

This construction is locked and cannot be edited by the user.

All layers are contained in a new materials category called ‘Armstrong’.

The key layer in this makeup is the Templok PCM. This is the Armstrong phase change material and has specific properties that are not shown in this dialog.

Typically, Armstrong Templok ceilings make up only part of the suspended ceiling system, for example, Ultima Templok tiles may occupy 75% of the ceiling area, while traditional Ultima ceiling tiles occupy the remaining 25% to allow for cuts around ceiling features and room perimeters. Thus, an Armstrong Ultima tile has also been imported into the normal ceiling category in ApCDB. This has to be manually assigned to the ceiling surface in the normal way.
