The regulations allow 42 months (3 and a half years) for improvements to be implemented. However, the Operational Rating route permits a building owner to defer completion of improvement works if the reporting of annual operational ratings is commenced within 12 months of the date of issue of first Action Plan for the building. This recognises that there will be situations where improvement works are perhaps not practical in the short term – a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) is used to report the ratings in this instance.
This option indicates whether the Operational Rating route has been selected to defer implementation of measures.
