PRM Considerations for Baseline Shading 2013

Shading by Adjacent Structures and Terrain
The effect that structures and significant vegetation or topographical features have on the amount of solar
radiation being received by a structure shall be adequately reflected in the computer analysis. All elements
whose effective height is greater than their difference from a proposed building and whose width facing the
proposed building is greater than one third that of the proposed building shall be accounted for in the
analysis.
In order to give flexibility in determining the impact of shading in the baseline model the navigator now
allows the user to choose whether or not Suncast solar and shading calculations will be included in the
baseline model.
Via the model selection dialogs for sizing runs and simulations a new ‘Include Suncast for baseline models’
tick box is included
