Further Notes on Filtering

Common Filters
The Virtual Environment interface often provides more than one method of accessing a particular item. For example, Heating Profile is accessible in Thermal modules (Apache, VE-Compliance, ASHRAE 90.1 PRM, New Zealand Compliance, and Singapore Compliance) in the following places:
-          Room Query
-          Tabular Space Data
-          Edit Group Attributes
-          Building Template Manager (BTM)
-          Tabular BTM

As this is effectively representing the same item across all the locations, the Heating Profile control in each location shares its filter with the Heating Profile control in all the other locations. So, if you changed the filter options for Heating Profile in the Room Conditions tab of Room Query, that same filter change would also take effect in the other locations.
Note that filters are not module-specific – therefore, the same filter applies regardless of which Thermal module is active (e.g. changing the filter in Apache module will also change it for the equivalent location(s) in the ASHRAE 90.1 PRM module).

Temporarily Bypass Profile Filtering
If you wish to view the content of a profile drop-list (either in its standard form or in a Tabular Editing window), you can hold down the CTRL key when you click the drop-list. This will show the full, unfiltered profile list without the need to manually turn off the individual filter conditions beforehand, or to fully turn off filtering using the main VE preferences option (see below).

Disable Profile Filtering and/or Graphing
By default, both profile filtering and profile preview graphing will be active. If you decide you would rather work without these features, you can disable one or both of them through the main VE preferences. To access the settings, select Preferences… from the Tools menu – there are two options on the General tab:
-          Use Profile Filtering
-          Display preview graph on profile lists
You can switch off either or both of these options as you see fit (for example, you could keep profile filtering switched on but turn off the preview graph feature).
