4.4.2.5 Underground floors

Underground floors can be defined utilizing the F-factor analysis method. This can be done in the Regulations Settings screen.
Input summary for Underground Floor Slab:
·        Slab Type: The Underground slab type (Heated or Unheated, On Grade or Below Grade)
·        Slab insulation orientation: The location and extent of slab-on-grade floor insulation
·        Slab R-Value: Nominal R-value of the underground floor slab
 
Slab on grade floor inputs
In addition a user can adjust the thermal properties of a ground-contact floor to include the impacts of the soil via a U-value correction layer. This can be set from the “Adjust” button under Functional Settings.
