For information about ASE definition and what it represents, please refer to Section: 2.1.4.4: ASE Annual Sunlight Exposure. Please note that ASE analyses should be performed in conjunction with Spatial Daylight Autonomy (sDA) analyses.
Unlike sDA simulations, blinds do not get modelled in ASE simulations.
To run an ASE simulation; go to the Simulate tab, select the Advanced option, then select Annual Sunlight Exposure (ASE). The image quality will be set automatically to Dynamic. Then, select the working plane (WP) height and the WP grid dimensions.
Subsequent changes to the image quality, will generate a warning message that this can affect the results accuracy.
To start the simulation, click Simulate.
Once the simulation is complete, go to the Dynamic Results tab to process the results.
Results are viewed in the WP Grid tab, at desired threshold bands, visualised in 3D, or tabulated, for the selected set of results:
• Average Lux
• Number of hours >Target Lux
For more information about how to obtain results for an Area of Interest (AOI), please refer to Section 10: WP Grid Tab.
