Nominal power
Nominal power is a product of Area, PV Module Nominal Efficiency and Electrical Conversion. For example:
· If user changes 'Nominal power', 'Area' recalculated
· If user changes 'Area', 'Nominal power' recalculated
· If user changes 'PV Module Nominal Efficiency ', 'Nominal power' recalculated
· If user changes 'Electrical Conversion ', 'Nominal power' recalculated
Area
The value entered for Area should include the total surface area of all PV panels.
Available processing profile
Available processing profile allows selection of a profile from the database to define the availability of the PV Array due to manual operation. If a schedule is not required, the profile should be defined as “on continuously”.
Azimuth
Azimuth defines the orientation of all PV panels in degrees clockwise from North.
Degradation factor
Degradation factor describes the slight degradation in performance due to an aged or damaged panel.
Electrical conversion
The Electrical conversion defines the efficiency of the conversion of solar energy to electrical energy in the panel. Note, this is not the same parameter as the nominal efficiency, which instead defines the efficiency of the panel as a whole.
Energy feedback
The Energy feedback option allows the user to determine whether the electricity generated by the PV Array can be fed back to the power grid. If the box is checked (the condition is true), the PV Array installation always generates the maximum amount of electrical energy it can and will feed back power to the grid if output exceeds demand. If the box is unchecked (the condition is false), the PV Array will only supply power in order to meet demand.
Inclination
Inclination is the tilt of the solar panel.
Nominal cell temperature
Nominal cell temperature is the typical operating temperature of the solar panel. The Nominal cell temperature is often referred to as the Nominal Operating Cell Temperature, or NOCT.
PV Module nominal efficiency
PV Module nominal efficiency defines the efficiency of the PV Array Installation as a whole. Note, this is not the same parameter as the Electrical conversion.
Reference irradiance for NOCT
Reference irradiance for NOCT is the solar irradiance that occurs at the typical operating temperature of the solar panel.
Shading factor
The Shading factor determines the proportion of solar energy allowed to pass through various shading devices to the PV array. Shading factors should be defined on a scale from 0 to 1 where 0 is total shading (0% solar energy reaches the array) and 1 is no shading (100% solar energy reaches the array).
Temperature coefficient
The Temperature coefficient refers to the temperature coefficient for module efficiency, which is used to calculate the efficiency of the solar panel. The Temperature coefficient functions as a multiplier on the difference in NOCT and the temperature of the cell.
