Remove unwanted escaping volumes
Files imported to the VE from BIM models can have issues with volumes escaping at the edges of ‘room bounding’ elements where the ceiling/roof element within the BIM model does not close the room/space to the correct level. Image below demonstrates this occurrence, where the roof slab does not come across far enough to close the volume. There are two options that can be taken to resolve this issue.
- Option 1 - go back to the originating BIM model and edit the foot print of the element so that it closes the volume off.
- Option 2 - within the quarantine area within the VE, select the volumes concerned and use the ‘Cap volumes’ tool as described in Stage 3 below to remove these issues.
