Construction Database Manager

The surface tile creation has a direct relationship with the Armstrong Templok construction containing the Phase change material.

The Armstrong Templok product is made-up of 3 constructions. Constructions are locked and cannot be edited by the user.

Typically, Armstrong Templok ceilings make up only part of the suspended ceiling system, for example, Ultima Templok tiles may occupy 75% of the ceiling area, while traditional Ultima ceiling tiles occupy the remaining 25% to allow for cuts around ceiling features and room perimeters. Thus, an Armstrong Ultima tile has also been imported into the normal ceiling category in ApCDB. This has to be manually assigned to the ceiling surface in the normal way. Refer to Assignment.

Thermal bridging

With regards to Thermal Bridging Constructions containing Armstrong Templok Phase change material are handled in the following ways:

Simple thermal bridging:
The thermal bridging coefficient of a surface and its openings are summed proportional to their areas. This includes surface tiles and their primary and secondary constructions. Surface tile construction thermal bridging coefficients are not overcounted - outcomes for a surface without a surface tile are the same as for a surface with a surface tile which has constructions with the same thermal bridging coefficient as that surface.

Detailed  thermal bridging :
Thermal bridging values for a surface are not affected by the presence of a surface tile, whether or not the surface tile is aligned with the edges of the surface. The thermal bridging values of primary or secondary constructions of a surface tile are ignored when collecting detailed thermal bridging data. The vista results are the same regardless of the presence or absence of a surface tile, or of its configuration.
