BB101:2018 builds on CIBSE TM52:2013 by defining comfort plus air quality checks for both free running and mechanical ventilated / cooled teaching and learning spaces. These are:
For free running teaching and learning spaces:
- Adaptive comfort analysis.
- Typical use of TM52 category II.
- TM52:2013 criteria 1, 2 & 3 assessment.
- Air quality assessment:
- Daily occupied average CO2 1500PPM.
- Max 20 mins occupied CO2 2000PPM.
- Design for 1200PPM majority of the time (new build).
- Design for 1750PPM majority of the time (refurb).
For mechanical ventilated / cooled teaching and learning spaces:
- PMV comfort analysis.
- Test zero hours exceeding PMV:
- Category I > +0.2
- Category II > +0.5
- Category III > +0.7
- Air quality assessment:
- Daily occupied average CO2 1000PPM.
- Max 20 mins occupied CO2 1500PPM.
The max 20 mins test requires Apachesim to be set with a 10-minute simulation timestep.
