4.7.2 Ventilation and Exhaust
This action launches a tab edit view of the Title 24 ventilation and exhaust properties for the selected spaces in the model.
Title 24 Ventilation Properties
The following ventilation properties can be viewed / edited by the user
· Basis for OA Requirement (non editable): Type ventilation standard – set too Title 24 2022
· Title 24 Ventilation Source: Forced, natural or none
· Title 24 Ventilation Function: the ventilation function type for the space, which defines the supply airflow and exhaust airflow requirements
· Outdoor Air Req. Type: Maximum, single requirement, sum
· Outdoor Air Req (ACH): The user input outdoor air flow rate in cubic feet per hour divided by the volume of the space.
· Outdoor Air Req (cfm/per person): The user input outdoor air flow rate divided by the design or hourly occupancy of the space.
· Outdoor Air Req (cfm/ft2): The user input outdoor air flow rate divided by the floor area of the space.
· Outdoor Air Req (cfm): The user input outdoor air flow rate
· Outdoor Air Req Total (cfm): Calculated outdoor air flow rate as per the user input
· Title 24 Min Outdoor Air Req Total (cfm): The minimum required by Title 24
· Title 24 Control Method: Fixed, C02 Sensors
· Ventilation Req (cfm): Calculated outdoor air flow rate as per the user input
· Ventilation Increase (%): Increase the ventilation rate by a user input percentage
· Mx Ventilation Req (cfm): Final calculated ventilation rate
The following exhaust properties can be viewed / edited by the user:
· Use Exhaust Air Change Req?: Yes/No
· Exhaust Air Change Req: The design exhaust air flow rate in the space
· Exhaust Air Change Req Unit: The unit for the design exhaust air flow rate in the space
· Exhaust Air Change Req (cfm): The design exhaust air flow rate for the space in cfm
· Title 24 Min Exhaust Req (cfm/ft2): The Title 24 minimum exhaust air flow rate for the space in cfm/ft2
· Title 24 Min Exhaust Req (cfm): The Title 24 minimum exhaust air flow rate for the space in cfm
· Title 24 Process Exhaust: Yes/No – only applies to certain space types
o Exhaust Air section (Commercial Kitchen)
§ Exhaust Hood Style: Select the type of exhaust hood. Input is optional. Options are WallMountedCanopy, SingleIsland, DoubleIsland, Eyebrow, BackshelfOrPassover.
§ Duty: Select the type of duty. Input is optional. Options are none, light, Medium, or Heavy.
§ Length (ft): Enter length of hood in feet.
§ Flow (cfm): The air flow rate in cfm.
o Exhaust Air section (Laboratory)
§ Total Fume Hood Length: The total length of the fume hoods. This and the exhaust airflow is used to determine whether the laboratory is a fume hood intensive laboratory and subject to sash control requirements.
§ Vertical Sash Fume Hood Exh Flow: The total exhaust flow through fume hoods using vertical sashes (cfm).
§ Vertical Sash Auto. Control Fraction: the fraction of fume hoods with vertical sashes that have automatic closure control devices.
§ Total Other Exhaust Flow: Exhaust airflow from other devices.
· Use Primary Air Change Req? – Yes/No
· Nighttime Setback Percentage – Yes/No
