4.2 Openings

In the VE a user can draw holes (internal), windows and doors. Doors can be used to represent doors, louvres and trickle vents. A Macroflo opening type is assigned to each opening to define how the opening is controlled during simulation. Users should be familiar with the conventions used for free area – refer to the user guide Macroflo calculation methods.

VE openings are parsed as Indalo® air passages with an area equal to the opening equivalent area from the APS file for the selected 7 day period.
As users will want to know how their model as designed in the VE performs in Indalo® external windows & doors opening extent is scheduled from profiles created from the APS results and Indalo® pollutant controls are not used.
