What are Passivent Roof Ventilation Terminals?

Passivent Roof Terminals are a range of roof mounted ventilation products comprising:
·         Airscoop®.
·         Airstract®.
·         Airstract® iAT.
·         Hybrid Plus Airstract®.
·         Litevent.

Passivent Airscoop® are roof mounted natural ventilation terminals which provide displacement ventilation using wind power only. Suitable for buildings with large open areas, deep plan spaces and open plan top floors. Designed to ‘capture’ prevailing wind and direct it via four separate chambers within the terminal to the space beneath. The optimised segmented design delivers maximum airflow capacity with minimal pressure drop through the system and the complete separation of chambers prevents ‘short circuiting’.

Passivent Airstract® are roof mounted natural ventilation terminals which provide exhaust ventilation as part of a passive stack ventilation strategy. They work in conjunction with Passivent Aircool facade ventilators, windows or louvres using wind power and natural buoyancy only. Suitable in a range of ventilation applications, particularly on upper floors with flat and pitched roofs.

Passivent Airstract® iAT are roof mounted natural ventilation terminals with the same features as the Airstract® terminal but with energy efficient mechanical assistance to respond to peak summer temperatures when there is minimal temperature difference between indoors and outdoors and thus low flow in passive ventilation systems.

Passivent Hybrid Plus Airstract® are roof mounted natural ventilation terminals that have all the features of the Airstract® range of terminals as well as an innovative air tempering and mixing feature that utilises a low power sweep fan. The design offers a number of modes to allow the most efficient energy efficient option in a variety of operational situations. The air tempering mode enables operation in low winter temperatures with a low risk of cold draughts. Suitable in a range of ventilation applications, particularly on upper floors with flat and pitched roofs.
Passivent Litevent are roof mounted natural ventilation terminals that combine a ventilator and rooflight in one unit. Suitable in a range of ventilation applications, particularly on upper floors with flat and low-pitched roofs.

All Passivent Roof Terminals can provide secure night-time cooling and where provided have exceptionally low specific fan powers.

All Passivent Roof Terminals include an intelligent and fully automatic control system dependant on season, external/internal temperature conditions and indoor air quality (IAQ) to ensure the lowest possible energy use - in terms of both the energy consumption of the ventilation system and overall building energy usage.
