When the prototype data is imported into the working model, it contains a series of thermal room groups based on NECB 2017 ‘Building Area’ & ‘Space by Space’ methods.
The thermal room groups provided reflect tables A 8.4.3.3.(2).A and A 8.4.3.3.(2).B.
In the space by space groups some group names include an annotation to remind the user to make manual adjustments to the prototype thermal room data relating to, for example LPD due to atrium height or to referring to the containing space for lighting controls etc.
In order for the application of thermal data to function properly via the ‘Space Classification’ action item, model rooms have to be placed in the correct room groups.
The related action item includes a tabular edit view, which provides an easy and efficient way to place rooms into room groups.
