Heat rejection/acquisition fan Electric Input Ratio (EIR)

This is the ratio of the heat rejection/acquisition fan power to the compressor power, which is computed from the performance curves. For example, at the default EIR value of 0.060, if the compressor in the outdoor unit were using 1 kW to address a cooling load at a particular point in time, then the fan would be modeled as using 60 W to reject the heat extracted by the compressor. Likewise, if the compressor were using 2 kW to address a particular heating load, the fan would be modeled as using 120 W to acquire the heat from the outside air.
