By default, a crankcase heater is included in all VRF systems. If a crankcase heater is not needed, which may be the case of the water-source unit is actually located indoors, users should uncheck the Use crankcase heater checkbox. When the crankcase heater is included, select the meter for reporting the crankcase heater energy consumption results.
Specify the power used by the crankcase heater when in operation.
The crankcase heater will operate when the compressor is off and outdoor temperature is below the specified Max outdoor temp. for crankcase heater operation.
