Menu item: “Selection” Þ “Add voids and/or stratify”
The Plenum/Void creator and space splitter tool is a facility for splitting a selected space along horizontal planes to create voids or plenums at ceiling or floor level and/or to subdivide the space for the purpose of modelling thermal stratification.

Space sub-type
The space sub-type of the ceiling space. Options: None, Void, Return Air Plenum
Height
The height of the ceiling space.
Label
A text string to be appended in brackets to the subject room name to create the name of the new space.
Stratification
Occupied zone height
The height of the occupied zone after space subdivision (non-editable; assigned automatically by subtraction).
Splitspace vertically for modelling thermal stratification
Tick this box to subdivide the main space into sub-spaces at different levels.
Number of stratified zones above the occupied zone
The number of spaces to be created above the occupied zone.
Combined height of stratified zones
The combined height of the spaces created above the occupied zone.
Minimum occupied zone height after stratification
A lower constraint on the height of the occupied zone after space subdivision.
Non-editable. Fixed at 1m = 3.28’.
Floor
Space sub-type
The space sub-type of the floor space. Options: None, Void, Supply Air Plenum
Height
The height of the floor space.
Label
A text string to be appended in brackets to the subject room name when creating the name of the new space.
