6.1 Generate the Standard Model
This action allows the user to generate the standard model and apply the Title 24 ruleset. Once generated all properties of the standard model can be viewed by the user, but they are locked for editing.
The following sequence occurs when this action is selected:
· The standard model is created, including the HVAC system (called baseline.asp)
· All non HVAC rules are applied to the model upon creation e.g. envelope properties, space data, daylighting, etc.
· A sizing calculation is performed to determine various sizes to allow for certain Title 24 rules to be applied to the HVAC components
· The Title 24 HVAC rules are applied to the baseline.asp file and a log file is made available so the user can review the rules that have been applied
· A full set of sizing calculations are performed on the standard model
· The HVAC system is sized
· An annual simulation is performed to determine the UMLH count for each space in the standard model
· An UMLH check is automatically carried out on the standard model. If any space fails the UMLH criteria then the system is resized as specified in the Title 24 ACM and the UMLH check runs until all spaces have an UMLH count below 150.
Once the standard model and its associated HVAC file is created, all its properties are available to be reviewed by the user.
A ‘Title 24 Standard’ model is now available for selection in the Title 24 view:
Once selected all non HVAC aspects of the model can be viewed but not edited.
The user can also open the baseline.asp file in ApacheHVAC and review all HVAC aspects of the standard model. Again, these properties can be viewed but are locked for editing.
