A building’s geometry can be imported into the project through the several options from within the navigator. All of these options are associated with the IESVE Application “ModelIT”. Input options can be found in the navigator under “Building Geometry” as shown below
Building Geometry (Setting -> Input Options)
The different Input Options include:
·Manually Extrude Spaces/Zones: This will open the ‘Shape Settings’ dialog as shown below. Set the height of the room and what plane the room sits on. Draw the outline of a room by clicking on points in the model view window to define the room vertices. Rooms can also be assigned to within different grouping schemes while creating the geometry through the Shape Settings dialog.

·Import DXF & Manually Extrude: This can be used to import Autocad DXF files .Use this as a guide in which to trace your rooms over while snapping to the grid at all times. When importing a dxf, it is important to select the correct scale factor. The drawing will appear in grey in the model view window and will sit behind the model.
