Certain types of profiles, namely absolute profiles and formula profiles, are sensitive to the choice of Units System (metric or IP). These profiles have an attribute indicating the Units System to be used when interpreting their values, together with any variables input to formulae, at run-time.
The profile’s Units System can be different from the Units System currently set for the project.
The Units System for the project may be changed using the Tools>Unit Preference menu option from the main VE menu. This setting will be assigned by default to newly created profiles of the types identified above. However, the Units Type for a profile can be edited independently of the Units Type for the Project, so it is possible (for example) for temperature profiles defined in degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius to coexist in the same project.
