Design optimisation allows for the optimisation of design parameters for iVN assets. It is achieved by first setting up an optimisation problem and then initiating the optimisation simulation. The result is a single optimal result which updates specific parameters of the model to those of the optimal result. Consequently, it is a tool for optimising the overall design of an iVN model.
The feature currently specifically supports the minimisation of external electricity, heat and cooling supply through the sizing of renewable energy sources, which inherently minimises carbon emissions.
