iSCAN has the ability to link the operational data collected to create and fine-tune a VE virtual simulation model of the building. This virtual model acts as a “Digital Twin” of the building, accurately reflecting the actual performance of the building, which can be used in a number of ways:
· To create an energy benchmark specific to the operational building
· To addresses gaps between the building’s intended design and actual performance (referred to as the “performance gap”)
· To virtually test Retrofit options and Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) to accurately assess what their impact would be in terms of energy/cost savings and effect on user comfort in the building. These “what-if” scenarios can be modelled in isolation, or combined, to determine the optimal set of ECMs for the building.
· Facilitate and track implementation of any chosen ECM using the virtual model to accurately measure & verify the building’s performance against expected outcomes
